Downtown Oklahoma City travelers will need to be aware of an important change this week.

Oklahoma City Officials have stated that a block of Walker Avenue between Reno and Sheridan will make a traffic switch. This street will go from one-way to two-way traffic on Monday. They are making this change so that is allows easier access to more of the downtown businesses.

Once this is all complete, the rest of Walker and many other downtown Oklahoma City streets will be transitioned from one-way to two-ways streets. Eric Wenger, Public Works Director, told reporters that Oklahoma City is at the peak of construction with the ongoing Project 180. This change will be improving the traffic flow around downtown Oklahoma City.

The tax increment financing as part of the Proejct 180 resdesign of downtown Oklahoma City streets is what the conversion is being funded through.
