Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Crystal Lea Cooper was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro westbound on 116th Street North around 1am. She failed to stop at a stop sign on US 75 and was struck by a 2011 ford Taurus that was going north on US 75.

The 34 year old Bradley Robert Schmitt of Edmond was the driver of the new Taurus. The Tulsa woman was pinned inside her Camaro for over 70 minutes while the Skiatook firefighters tried to get her out. Unfortunately, OHP stated that Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was a 28 year old passenger in the Camaro, Jasper Carrel III, who was taken to St. John Medical Center and admitted in stable condition.

Bradley Schmitt and the 30 year old passenger in the Taurus, Jennifer Schmitt, we’re both taken and treated at St. John but were later released.

All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts and airbags in the vehicles deployed at the time of the Tulsa crash.

This crash was the second fatal one at the same intersection since October 2011.
