Tornado damage victims should be on the lookout: home repair scams are the latest form of false contracts in Oklahoma.

Harold Whitt was charged with six felony counts under the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act after he took advance payments from homeowners whose property had been damaged in the recent tornadoes experienced across the state.

Whitt, 57, took money from several stricken families under the corporate guise of All Pro Construction, and then failed to perform any work on their homes.

Court prosecutors are having difficulty locating Whitt, who seems to have fled the area after the scam became apparent. Anyone with information on the contractor’s whereabouts should contact the authorities.

Strong storms, like the tornadoes that ravaged Oklahoma and left 10 people dead in May, are often a precursor to these types of scams, since survivors often want to repair the weather damage quickly.
