On I-35 around 4am Saturday morning, three men died when their car ran off the highway at SE 15th and landed on the railroad tracks below. OHP said the car had been traveling southbound when it left the highway and struck a median, going about 50 yards before striking an embankment, and going another 50 yards before it came to a rest on it’s top.

The troopers said that alcohol was not involved and that driver fatigue was mostly at fault. The three men were wearing seat belts when the accident occurred. Joe Kelley, Steve Kelley, and Terrance Hall were pinned inside the car for almost three hours on top of railroad tracks which caused train traffic to be paused for awhile and also Southbound I-35 was stopped for a short amount of time.
