On Tuesday in Rogers County, a Union Pacific train derailed which forced the authorities to close the highway exit. The State Highway 88 exit off of US 412 was closed in Inola after twelve rail cars derailed around 7:15am. Troopers said they used heavy equipment to clear the train that was carrying scrap metal, coal, and flour.

Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton, said no injuries occurred when the train derailed but it did start a small grass fire that was quickly extinguished. The highway patrol said it would open the highway exit late Tuesday night.
